Kristina and Steven

Kristina and Steven came to us with their planner Gabrielle Events four weeks before their wedding date. Using the house a friend, we worked on blending the "his" and "her" vision for an intimate backyard affair. She wanted a romantic, loose garden with plentiful texture and color. He wanted sleek, clean lines, with a minimal approach.

Developing the look, we drew inspiration from the architecture of the Getty Museum, which sat in the background of the estate. Adding white pillars around the pool for the ceremony and rectangular crystal vases atop heavy concrete tables. Softening the look, thousands of heirloom roses from Rose Story Farm, and whimsical September blooms, added a softness and refined elegance.

A simple posy of Dutch Lilac, Clematis, and Pink Spirea was the perfect touch for the affair. The color story shifted from a cleaner Getty white, to warm vintage tones featuring lavender and mauve.

Small gardens of overflowing greens and blooms dotted the reception dinner with trees and a full stage dressing brought in to warm the space further.
